The Cosna Script Contest 2025 has officially come to a close, and we are thrilled to share the results with our global writing community!

This year marked the first international online edition of the festival, and the response was overwhelming — with submissions from around the world, diverse genres, and powerful storytelling voices.

Our jury, composed of API members and professionals from the film industry, carefully read and evaluated every submitted script. The decision was not easy, but today we proudly announce the standout projects across both categories.

The Cosna Script Contest, one of Romania’s most unique and high-altitude cultural events, is returning for its 5th edition, and for the first time ever, international screenwriters can now take part — from anywhere in the world.

🎬 A Festival Like No Other

Held annually on the summit of Cosna Mountain, this open-air festival has become a cinematic tradition, gathering thousands of attendees each year to celebrate film, storytelling, and local culture.

The event takes place over a full weekend — July 25–27, 2025 — and includes screenings, cultural activities, and the highly anticipated script competition.

This year, we’re excited to announce the launch of a new International Online Section, open to screenwriters worldwide.

Whether you’re a first-time writer or an experienced screenwriter, we want to read your work. The Cosna Script Contest is now accepting entries in the following categories:

  • Best Feature Script – International
  • Best Short Script – International
  • Best Romanian Script
  • Jury Distinction for Emerging Talent
  • Audience Award (voted during the on-site event)
  • Honorable Mentions

Each script submitted through FilmFreeway will receive written feedback from our jury.
